I've only drawn a few drawings with graphite and white pastels on tan paper. I have a few reasons for this...
The blending technique on this paper is a little more difficult to get a smooth transition because the paper is not as course as my other papers.
I'm picky about the photo having enough contrast to make the highlights pop with the white pastels.
It takes me a lot longer to complete a piece to my satisfaction.
However, I actually love this technique because of the final product has a antique, vintage feel to it. I guess I will just practice more until I will become more comfortable.
