My Story

My career in art began in the professional world of graphic design. I started as a graphic artist and eventually became the art director for a national magazine.

Then life took me in a different direction.

When I married and had my first child, I made the decision to stay home and raise our children while my husband worked. I wanted to be there for those precious years, but I also wanted to continue doing what I loved—creating art.

That's when I began drawing custom portraits for extra income.

What started as a way to continue using my artistic skills while raising my family gradually grew into something much bigger.

My husband and I eventually purchased a little building in the downtown area of our small town. I filled it with handmade crafts and artwork, but I quickly discovered that my custom portraits were what people were most interested in.

There was very little competition because realistic hand-drawn portraiture was—and still is—a specialized skill.

That experience helped me realize that my artwork had a place of its own.

From My Little Shop to Your Home

Eventually, I decided that I wanted to focus on what I loved most: drawing portraits.

Selling my artwork online allows me to stay in my home studio, surrounded by the beauty and quiet of the Colorado forest, and spend my days doing what I truly love—drawing.

Today, I live in a cozy cabin in the woods of Colorado, where I create my portraits one at a time.

I'm also a mother of three grown children and a very proud Nana to five darling granddaughters. My family has given me a deep appreciation for the little moments and expressions that make people and pets so special—and that appreciation finds its way into my artwork.

Why I Draw

To me, a portrait is about much more than reproducing a photograph.

It's about capturing a moment, an expression, or a personality that means something to you.

Whether I'm drawing a beloved family pet or a child at a special stage of their life, I want the finished portrait to feel personal—to look at it and immediately recognize the individual you love.

Every portrait I create is drawn by hand, one at a time, with patience and attention to detail.
